• Go thoroughly through all the Elysium Gate pages, it will help you with understanding the site and being able to help others more readily (your main duty as a Torch Bearer!)...plus you can tell us of any glitches you find!  Also please jot down any FAQ that come to mind as you are shmoozing around.

• Add an Elysium Gates guestbook and counter to your site (so you can help others to do so).  Make sure it works!

• You must check your torchbearerarea@elysiumgates.com account everyday and answer emails within 24 hours.  If there is some reason you will not be able to answer your mails, forward your mail to pandia@elysiumgates.com temporarily.

• Create a page about your Torch Bearer (make up a tall tale!), also include a biography of yourself and links to your personal site.  The format should be similar to the history/bios of the staff that can be found linked to: Mt Olympus after you have created the page(s), notify Kythera Ann who will link it here and on the area site.  Be sure to add your page to the Torch Bearer ring (below).

• Always be aware of your area site at http://elysiumgates.com/area/0 and the corporate portal to your area which is found at http://elysiumgates.com/area Kythera Ann will send a .zip file of the HTML for these pages.  When you have changes you make them on your copy and email the HTML page(s) affected back to her.  The format and graphics of these pages MUST be maintained the same as it is now.  You are free to change text as needed with what the Muse and Oracle of your area decide.   Also you can add pages to the area site continuing the current design and maintain them (if agreed to by the Muse and Oracle of your area) ...such as perhaps a calendar of area members birthdays, anniversaries...or e-cards to send members, etc.   You are responsible for the help.html of the site, keep it up to date!  Any graphic or sidebar modification of these pages that you need including new graphic page titles, please Kythera Ann.  All changes need to be sent to her as .html files.  Remember to include any extra graphics.  Never mess with the coding for the side bar unless specifically instructed to change something.

• Kythera will will send you the original art for your Torch Bearer that Iris created ...you may adapt the art for a signature file.

• When the Muse and Oracles for your area are on holiday you will also temporarily be in charge of the area ring.  All area Muse and Oracle mail will be redirected to you, the Torch Bearer, by Pandora until their return.  If you are administering the area ring, Kythera will send you further instructions.

• Be sure to add the area ring and Elsyium Gates ring to your personal site on Elysium Gates, they both should reside on your index.html.

• Forums: Each of you are required to take 3 message boards (minimum) to post to twice per week.  In your forum preferences, it would be nice if you set up the message boards you are assigned to automatically email you everytime there is activity on them, this will help jog your mind to write to them often and respond on these boards.  Of course feel free to participate in all the forums as you'd like...but you must minimally work the ones assigned.   Remember you can log in as your volunteer aliases and your web site identity, so you can talk to yourself on these boards if you really want to go crazy *grin*  You will be assigned your 3 forums by Pandia.

• You must send a welcome letter to each new member.  Pandia will notify you of new members and send you a sample letter you can adapt.  Remember to cc Pandia the letters you send to new members!  It's how she knows the new members are being taken care of in an expiditious manner.  If the member responds with a question, answer them promptly or find out who can.  Again cc Pandia.

• You need to send a letter of friendly inquiry to your area members every three months.  Make sure they are happy and inquire if you can help them with anything.  Pandia will send you a smaple letter you can adapt.

• Sign guestbook if available of area members at least twice a year.

• Encourage people to join Elysium gates through signing guestbooks, message boards, rings and newsgroups on the net.  Pandia will give you appropriate samples.  At least one of these items should be done each week.

• You need to be sure to congratulate members on the forums for winning featured site status, same with new member sites once they are up.

• You must send your area members a birthday card and cards for all the holidays.  Also announce their birthday on the general and area message boards, encouraging people to sign their guestbooks (which you of course have already done!).

• Help the Muse, Oracles and Pandia in any way you can, stay in close contact with them..

• You are the area cheerleader, welcome wagon and information desk for your area, so be active, enthusiastic and follow through!
